ESPOR
Mixed development of office centre, shopping spaces and apartment block, Bulgaria Blv., Sofia, 2008-2011.
The corner position at the intersection of Bulgaria Blvd. and Todor Kableshkov Blvd. makes the building a key landmark, acting as a node between different city flows. The slight deviation from the right angle of the crossroads results in a faceted building with a trapezoidal plan. The composition consists of two parts: an L-shaped office body clad in black ceramic Porcelanosa tiles, reaching a height of 44 meters, and a lower, cubic residential section nestled within the L-shape. The tall black vertical structure serves as a striking landmark, framing a view toward the city centre, while its tapering columns add elegance to its stance. The residential facades are clad in white ceramics, with subtly angled surfaces creating a dynamic “flutter” effect. At the top of the office section, beneath a pergola, an elliptical conference hall with V-shaped columns at its periphery is available for rent by office tenants. A three-level underground parking area and technical spaces support all functions of the mixed-use complex.
