JUMBO BO

Shopping Complex, Black Gold Retail Park, Sofia, Botevgradsko Shosse, 2015

The Jumbo BO is a facility specialised in selling products for children. The commission task was focused on a high-technological shopping space to cover approximately 17000 sq.m., and placed on the city periphery, at the crossing of Sofia Ring road and Botevgradsko shosse. The building was conceived as the principal investment by Jumbo Store Greek company into a territory of the Black Gold Retail Park, the first commercial space of its kind in Bulgaria. Thus it is part of a larger development scheme that covers 63000 sq.m. of gross shopping facilities placed in a retail park on a 122000 sq.m. plot. The building concept is based on a typical “big box” scheme developed on two levels. The upper level serves as storage area for goods. The metal structure allows big spans of up to 14 m., and fast construction process. The building TFA of JUMBO BO is 13000 sq.m.
